Bicycles are a preferred means of transportation in the walled city of Lucca, Italy. I'm told at one time cars were banned within the walls, but the rules wre more relaxed when we visited. Apparently the change has met some resistance. (See photo below.)

The signs were outside the office for some political party. There were other banners (see Flickr set on Lucca) but my Italian is not so good, and Babelfish came up with an unintelligable translation.
